 Cem Gurkok joined Terremark Worldwide, Inc. in March 2009 as a Senior Security Engineer. He is a member of the Engagement Services Team, Terremark’s professional services security consulting division of Secure Information Services. The Team provides clients around the world with rapid incident response, forensics, and other critical security services including evaluating security posture through vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Working with Fortune 1000 companies and other financial, insurance, and educational services firms in the United States and Europe, Cem has been involved in numerous consulting projects in the areas of security audit, vulnerability assessment, computer forensics, and secure systems design. He has also been involved as an expert in various security incidents dealing with system intrusions, theft of intellectual property, and fraud.
During his tenure at SteelCloud, Inc. Cem was responsible for managing the company’s R & D in advanced information technology as well as leading the design and development of the company’s proprietary security systems. He has also been involved in managing systems integration, data migration and data warehousing services for the ATS Corporation and its clients within the financial and insurance industries.
Cem provides training on computer forensics, incident response, intrusion detection, design and development of secure computer software. Cem has co-authored a patent for a network security audit system in 2005.
Cem graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA degree in Computer Information Systems, Chemistry, and Biology from the University of Miami. He also holds an MBA with specializations in Finance and Operations Research. Cem is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and has a GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware Certification.
