Cem Gurkok [CISSP, SCJP, GREM]

Cem Gurkok joined Appix, Inc. in May 2006 as Senior Consultant, responsible for managing data migration and data warehousing services for the company and its customers. Prior to Appix, Mr. Gurkok worked at SteelCloud, Inc. as Senior Security Engineer. In addition, Mr. Gurkok was a Security Systems Developer at Asgard Group, a network security company SteelCloud acquired in 2004. Mr. Gurkok was responsible for managing SteelCloud’s research in advanced technology as well as leading the design and development of the company’s proprietary security systems. Mr. Gurkok also applied his security knowledge to design an online secure credit card transaction system for the University of Miami as a Systems Analyst.

Working with Fortune 1000 companies and financial services firms in the United States and Europe, Mr. Gurkok has lead numerous consulting projects in the areas of security audit, vulnerability assessment, computer forensics, and secure systems design. Cem has also been involved as an expert in various security incidents dealing with system intrusions, theft of intellectual property, harassment, and fraud.

Mr. Gurkok provides training on computer forensics, incident response, intrusion detection/prevention, design and development of secure computer software, and wireless technology security. Mr. Gurkok has authored a patent pending network security audit system in 2005.

Mr. Gurkok graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA degree in Computer Information Systems, Chemistry, and Biology from the University of Miami. He also holds an MBA with specializations in Finance and Operations Research.
